Onboarding Guide for Boundless_ Experts

Take the first step to getting a paycheck.   Follow this guide to become a BOUNDLESS_ Expert, where your profile will be put in front of cybersecurity vendors looking for skills like yours.   You’ll find the necessary steps and what to expect throughout the process.

Step 01
update your expert profile

The first impression an employer gets of you is your curriculum vitae (CV) or résumé, which we call your expert profile.  We use your profile to market your skills to future employers.  

Tailor experience to the role.  It’s best to tailor your profile to the type of work you are looking for.  Our clients are looking for people with skills in the following areas:

  • Penetration Testing
  • Digital Forensics & Incident Response
  • Cyber Assessments & Advisory
  • Security Operations Center (SOC)
Step 02
upload profile & sign agreement

Provide some basic information about you and upload your profile/CV.

You’ll also review and agree to our terms and conditions, called our Independent Contractor Services Agreement, which allows us to market your profile to future employers and establishes basic terms and conditions for future work.  

There is no commitment at this stage—details about hourly rate, work schedule, and job-specifics are outlined in a Statement of Work signed when we have a gig for you.

Step 03
Boundless_ reviews and markets your profile

If you haven't met someone at Boundless_, we’ll schedule a short video call so we can meet. This is not an interview! This is a call to verify you are a human, and get to know each other.

Boundless_ will market your profile to potential cybersecurity vendors or companies that need skills like yours. 

This process can be passive (a spot in our database, email marketing) or active (client asking for specific skills, outbound calls to our contacts). It can be short or take a while depending on the current needs of our client base and your skillset.  

If we have a potential match, we’ll connect you with the client for an interview.

Step 04
get hired & make money!

At this point you’ll need to complete onboarding, which can differ based on the client. 

At minimum you’ll sign a Statement of Work (SOW) with Boundless_ that outlines the details of the engagement—what you’re doing, when you work and how much you get paid. 

You’ll also do a background check and provide details on how to get paid by Boundless_. There could be additional requirements based on the client. 

Most importantly, Boundless_ pays you within 10 days of the month-end for work performed.

Step 05
get hired again!

Rinse and repeat! Boundless_ experts who get hired once usually get hired again.  If the client was impressed, you may get hired again (word travels!) or the client could recruit you for long-term employment. If the client is interested in hiring you long-term, you have no responsibility to pay any recruitment fees to Boundless_.
